How do I Care for my Handwovens ?

Handmade items require more care when laundering, and we generally suggest to err on the side of caution when caring for them. When machine washing, we often use laundry wash bags to prevent snags.

Please keep in mind that, due to the nature of handwoven cloth, there will often be slubs and variations. These characteristics are not considered defects, but rather embraced, as each piece is one of a kind.

Table Runners & Napkins

Hand wash or Machine wash on delicate in cold water. Line dry or Tumble dry on low.

Throws & Blankets

Hand wash or Machine wash on delicate in cold water. Line dry or Tumble dry on low.

Pillows

Spot clean. Or hand wash and line dry.

Tips for Snagged Fabrics

In the event of a snagged loop on your textiles, resist the urge to pull or cut it. First, try to smooth out the bunched threads by stretching the fibers around it. This will help make the loops smaller. Then you can pull the loop to the wrong side of the fabric. Here is a tutorial that will show you how.
